1. Clearly articulate The Main Thing.

What is the primary service you are seeking to provide? What bottleneck do you need to remove, and exactly what tool do you need to solve that? What is the main call to action for your business?

Discovering The Main Thing is required to maintain focus and a healthy ROI on everyone’s investment of time and money, and usually involves more research and time than people realize.

Asking questions at all levels of development is crucial - understanding people’s desires, their existing processees, and what they actually need out of their tools is essential to improving experiences for them and their users.

2. It must be beautiful.

Aesthetics and initial impressions matter. Technology is generally ugly and confusing, and that is not the world I want to live in. I do my part to make sure whatever tool or site I build is in some small way, thoughtful, elegant, and consistently enjoyable to interact with.

I deeply value aesthetics and style UX across all user journeys, and strive to make sure that all users have a pleasant and enjoyable experience using your tools or websites.

3. Speed.

A sense of immediate response is a fundamental pillar of enjoyable user experience. Build software that respects everyone’s time and makes their work and play more enjoyable.
